ALULA SKIES BY DAY
There’s no better way to experience AlUla’s stunning landscape than from the air and no better time than during the AlUla Skies Festival. From ballooning to helicoptering, these activities let you see AlUla from an exhilaratingly elevated perspective.
ALULA HOT AIR BALLOONS
Dozens of colourful hot air balloons will take to the skies for the AlUla Skies Festival. Morning untethered flights rise with the sun to drift high above Hegra’s monumental tombs. Afternoon tethered flights soar skyward for unforgettable 360-degree views.
HELICOPTER TOUR
Few aerial experiences beat the thrill of taking off in a chopper. Hop aboard an helicopter tour and you’ll also be soaring over some of AlUla’s most famous landmarks and heritage sites while enjoying a bird’s-eye view of this breathtaking landscape.
GIANT SWING
An alternative way to get airborne, this 70-metre swing is one of only seven in the world. The heart-pumping experience involves leaping from a mountain's edge and flying between canyon walls, taking in the views as you swoosh dramatically through the air.
ALULA STAIRWAY
Unique to the region, the AlUla Stairway takes you up a 45-metre suspended ladder with an exhilarating 150-metre zipline back down to the valley floor. As well as the thrilling experience, you get a photo to take home to prove you braved it.
ALULA SKIES BY NIGHT
Combining a privileged location with minimal light pollution, AlUla truly boasts some of the darkest night skies on Earth. This makes for perfect conditions for gazing starward during the AlUla Skies Festival, which is also due to coincide with some special celestial events.
ASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY
This beyond-stargazing experience is set in an area known for its spectacular night skies. An expert takes visitors on a journey through the constellations, followed by a session on how to capture their splendour on camera.
JAZZ NIGHTS
Some of the top names from the world of jazz music will be heading to AlUla for Jazz Nights on the first weekend of May. Enjoy two days of live performances in a relaxed open-air venue surrounded by AlUla's magical landscape.
HARRAT VIEWPOINT
Sat atop an ancient mountain, a trip to this elevated outlook offers not only spectacular views over AlUla’s landscape, but also a huge canopy of night sky. Expect exciting additions to the site for the AlUla Skies Festival.
